GLB&A has a long history serving York County, so when an opportunity emerged to help carry on a similarly storied history, we saw how Strausser Surveying and Engineering, Inc. has been serving Lancaster County for decades with excellence and recognized value. Strausser joined GLB&A in 2024, and we are excited for this opportunity to expand our GLB&A team while also extending Strausser’s history. We are combining resources and expertise to better serve our clients, and we will operate two fully staffed offices, GLB&A in York and Strausser in Lancaster. We look forward to continuing to serve York, Lancaster and surrounding counties with our growing team.

Our History
Gordon L. Brown, Sr. (PLS) founded GLB&A as a Land Surveying company in 1952. Keeping it in the family, his son, Gordon L. Brown, Jr. (PE) joined the company in 1970. As a graduate from Penn State University and engineer at PennDOT, he expanded his father’s company to include the discipline of Civil Engineering. For decades following, GLB&A has built on this foundation of civil engineering and surveying with many long-term employees carrying on our tradition of dependable professional services and long-lasting client relationships.

One of those long-term employees, John D. Runge, Jr., stepped in and acquired the company in 2018 to ensure its tradition providing the same valuable services for years to come.
