Location:  Pheasant Ridge (York Twp.)

Project Description:  This Phase I Environmental Site Assessment of the proposed Pheasant Ridge Subdivision in York Township was undertaken by Gordon L. Brown & Associates, Inc. The assessment was completed in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the American Society of Testing Materials (ASTM-E1527) a specification which defines the standard process by which Phase I Environmental Site Assessments are prepared. 

The scope of this project consisted of the following:

• Site reconnaissance to gather any visible evidence of contaminants or potential contamination via under or above ground storage tanks, stored drums, garbage or debris of any kind
• Review of technical background literature
• Land use history of the site through interviews with local government officials, the owner, and neighbors
• Review of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protections files
• Written request under the Freedom of Information Act to disclose any monitoring or enforcement activities conducted on or near the site
• Perform a radial search report to scan all available databases, including Federal and State, to identify any environmental impairment on or near the site
